
Alexander Richerand, MD
Dr. Alex Richerand is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician. He attended high school at Covington High and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Southeastern Louisiana University. He then completed his masters degree in Natural Sciences at LSU and graduated from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.
While in medical school, he was elected by his peers into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), a national organization that recognizes medical students who portray humanistic values, including "empathy, compassion, respect, and excellence in service."
His focus is in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries and other musculoskeletal disorders. His goal is to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities related to the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and musculoskeletal system.
He emphasizes the need for nutrition and alternative therapies to treat underlying health related issues that may be correctable without medication. He is an active member of American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and regularly volunteers at their national conventions held throughout the US.
