Alexis Carimi, MD
Dr. Carimi is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician.
She attended high school at Mount Carmel Academy. She completed her undergraduate degree in Genetics at the University of Georgia. She then went on to earn her medical degree and complete her residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
She is trained in the specialty of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). Her focus is in the diagnosis and treatment of non-surgical musculoskeletal and neurological conditions including neck and low back pain, joint pain, arthritis, sports injuries, stroke, spinal cord injury and electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCV).
She is also approved by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners to recommend Therapeutic Marijuana. Her treatment approach emphasizes the importance of restoring function and preventing future injuries.
